Stay at our cool, powered campsite and enjoy our remote, rural, beautiful 250 acre property at the western end of Kangaroo Island!

The surroundings are 5 star, boasting the best of the bush, with distant sea views . The campsite includes includes power from our shed (10 amp socket), a drop dunny and limited rain water.

Camp fires (small) are allowed when fire restrictions allow.

We have rubbish bins available at corner of Snug & Colman’s Rd for your convenience.

The space

POWERED CAMP SITE 2 – PS2 – NEXT TO SHEARING SHED

This listing, PS1, includes a powered camp site for up to 10 guests and 3 vehicles, located next to the container, with power available from our shed (10 amp sockets). The base rate is $50 for two people, and then extra guests are only $15 per night. And your pets are welcome to join you at no additional charge! (They must strictly be supervised at all times).

There is a fire pit that you are welcome to use when there are no fire bans.

There is a drop toilet at the back and external lights and an outdoor shower. Please be advised; the toilet and shower facilities are shared facilities and may be used by other guests camping on site.

From the camp site, make your way down past the dams and go through the shiny gate at the bottom of the hill (please close the gate behind you). Here, you’ll discover 125 acres of untouched Kangaroo Island wilderness with walking trails to explore. Keep an eye out for koalas, kangaroos, wedge-tail eagles, wallabies, large grass trees etc

We also have two small lakes that you can have a picnic by or drop some Marron nets in for a fresh feed. There are weighing scales provided at the shed so you can pay for them. This is on an honesty system- so please do the right thing, as we have already been burnt from the fires. You must contact me if you wish to fish for marron prior to catching any.

There is also a tinny (small boat) on the edge of the lake, with life jackets- please be advised you use this at your own risk. Please feel free to jump in the lake for a refreshing swim!

Don’t forget that you need to supply your own tent/ campervan/ caravan etc. You also need to supply all cooking utensils and anything you require. This camp ground is suited the self sufficient, experienced camper.

Other things to note

Because this is a rural property we do not have cleaners; please try to leave the premises cleaner than you got it. If you happen to see any rubbish in the paddock please pick it up.

Please remove all of your rubbish. We have rubbish bins available at corner of Snug & Colman’s Rd for your convenience.

There are no shops or food places close by- you need to bring supplies with you. You can bring supplies from the mainland, alternatively you can purchase supplies on KI, in the following locations:

A small stream with rocks and native scrub, part of the bushland accessible from the Bush Marron Camp.
A flock of sheep grazing in a green paddock on the rural Bush Marron Camp property.
Penneshaw (where the ferry is) – IGA
Kingscote- the main town – Foodland
American River- small fishing area- limited supplies
Parndarna- a small town on the way to the Western River area- limited supplies

You will need to supply everything else including tent/ caravan/ camper van, bedding, cooking equipment etc.

Don’t forget this property is located in a remote, rural area, please come prepared. Think torches, walking shoes, coats in the winter, warm bedding, food supplies…… plan ahead, you’re heading to the bush! Please be aware, you will need to travel down dirt roads.
